Why study communication at UIndy?

As a student in the Department of Communication, you can expect to receive an excellent education that will prepare you for your career. Not only will you specialize in a particular communication area, you'll be encouraged to diversify and expand your horizons by participating in other areas of our department.

When you enter our program, you'll take core classes in electronic media, journalism and human communication during your first year, before specializing in one (or more) of our concentration areas:

Throughout your time at UIndy, immerse yourself with courses in video production, radio broadcasting, writing for print media, and more! And whether it's for academic credit or just to gain experience, you may soon find yourself becoming a student manager or editor in any of the applied classes.

Learn by doing

Communication students can participate on the varsity speech team or work for the University radio station, the on-campus television channel, the student newspaper or the student-run public relations agency. Your involvement is encouraged from your first day of college to your last, helping you to advance and improve your proficiencies right up until graduation.
